Final Project

Final Project

It was difficult making a final decision for what I wanted to do but in the end I finally have! Every book we have
read so far has inspired me, but in the end the one that stood out the most was Mia Kirshner's: Cíudad Juárez and Malawi. In
all for the "journals" were incredible to read and look through. Though they were all good, the visuals for in Cíudad Juárez and Malawi journals impacted me and inspired me. In the Cíudad Juárez, I fell in love with the sewing collages and embroidery. In the Malawi Journal I was very fond of the illustrations and the presentation of Shatter Box. While reading and posting about these books I realized I knew what I wanted to do. Understanding that a lot were about peoples experiences and lives I wanted to practice doing my own. Now I am not big on embroidery but I love paper. So hand made paper and scrap book paper was my choice of media.

The beginning of a series of projects. I don't quite have a name for them but I am beginning to dig into my thoughts and emotions of others and of myself. I based this on a day that was very special to me and I hope to work my way to the deeper areas in my life. I ended up using this as a gift.

I want to explore how people think as well
